Ron Carúpano Reserva Exclusiva is a premium Venezuelan rum with special reserves of up to 12 years of aging, made in the Macarapana-Carúpano Valley under the Ron de Venezuela designation of origin and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It is the anchor of Destilería Carúpano's aged portfolio, blended by Carmen López de Bastidas, Venezuela's first certified female master blender. The rum is aged at length in sealed white American oak barrels, without replacing the annual angel's share, and the valley's coastal microclimate, with high maritime humidity and big swings between day and night temperatures, helps shape its character. It has won Gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles among many other awards.
Beautiful amber with orange glints, it offers sophisticated aromas of red flowers, molasses, caramel, honey, maple, plum, cinnamon and cloves, with a touch of saltiness and damp wood. The palate is unctuous, smooth and full-bodied, with honey, caramel, dark chocolate and a pleasant spiciness, and the finish is long, harmonious and slightly dry, with toasted nuts and spice.
