Ron Colón Salvadoreño RCS Rye 100 is a limited-edition American rye whiskey blend, made by bartenders for bartenders in honour of rye cocktails and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
It was mashed, distilled and aged at MGP's historic distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, using historic whiskey production parameters and a proprietary yeast that dates back to the Seagram's ownership in 1933.
The blend brings together three hand-selected whiskeys. A touch of high-malt rye mash adds sweetness, finishing flavours of chocolate and apple and a more viscous mouthfeel, while two further rye batches bring the robust rye character of mint, spice and floral botanicals. All the whiskeys were laid down in 2017 and bottled in 2022, and the blend won Platinum at the ASCOT Awards.
