The rum is named after and inspired by the volcanic region of Izalco in El Salvador, and is drawn from some of the finest Central American rum distilleries. With no sugar or caramel colouring added, it is highly regarded by rum purists and cask strength lovers alike, a rum that recalls finely aged bourbon or single malt whisky in the warm context of a full-bodied rum.
In the glass it shows dark amber tones with fiery ruby hues. The nose opens with apricot, prune, honey, caramel, brown sugar and aged oak, followed by a rich palate of baked pineapple, baking spice, soft tannins, sweet pipe tobacco, molasses, dark fruit and charred American oak. The flavours linger long after each sip.
