Sangre de Vida Reposado is an overproof 100% blue Weber agave tequila aged three months in oak barrels and bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV), presented in a matte black anatomical heart bottle.
Sangre de Vida means "blood of life," and the bottle is inspired by card number 27 of Lotería, El Corazón; the Mexican picture-card game reflects traditions, historical figures, cuisine and popular culture. The edgy, black anatomically shaped bottle with crimson accents exudes serious gothic vibes. It is produced at NOM 1137 in Tequila, Jalisco, in the Los Valles region, with agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, extracted by screw mill and fermented in stainless steel tanks. At 110 proof it is bottled right at the maximum strength tequila rules allow.
Fruity on the nose with a hint of sweet agave and caramel, it brings sweet roasted agave, caramel and vanilla on a medium body carried by crisp, clean alcohol. It begins with a fresh sweetness and evolves into a lingering warmth, finishing smooth, warm and flavorful.
The heart bottle makes it an unforgettable gift.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
