Seventy One Gin is a luxurious oak-rested gin from England, rested for 71 nights in a mix of medium-toasted new European oak, ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and ex-Cognac casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
Created by photographer Mert Alas, Seventy One takes its name from those 71 nights in wood. Its signature botanical is the Queen of the Night cactus flower, which blooms for a single night, joined by rose petals and grapefruit peel alongside juniper. The sherry casks bring sweetly aromatic spice with grape and dark chocolate, and the Cognac casks add depth and richness.
The result is rich and complex, with vanilla, toasted oak, tonka bean and dark chocolate over crushed juniper, wild pine and rose petal. Bold, complex and remarkably smooth, it is a gin made for sipping as much as mixing.
The minimalist bottle and white presentation box, marked simply with the number 71, make it an elegant gift.
Enjoy it over ice with a twist of grapefruit, or in a refined martini or negroni. Aged gins like this sit between classic London dry and whisky, and the oak and sherry influence make it an inviting choice for whisky drinkers curious about gin, as well as a standout ingredient for bartenders building richer, spirit-forward cocktails.
