Severo Reposado is a small-batch, hand-crafted and hand-numbered tequila made from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave and aged 10 months in white American oak. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Severo is distilled by Casa Don Roberto (NOM 1437), a sustainable, Mexican-owned heritage tequila house founded in 1924 that still follows its original family recipe, now nearly 100 years old. Its master distiller, Estella Anguiano, is one of the first female tequila distillers and has been making tequila in Jalisco for decades. The brand draws on the hardship of the Mexican Revolution and the era that made tequila Mexico's national drink.
This reposado is copper-hued, clean and bright. The aroma recalls fresh vanilla bean, maple syrup and rich caramel, and the taste shows a seamless, velvety texture with a stout bouquet and a medium-long finish.
Its tall bottle, embossed with the SVR seal, makes it a refined gift.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
