Shunka Shuto creates a blend unique to each season, made to pair with the foods and flavours of that time of year. The whiskies are crafted from aged corn, rice and malt whiskies and soft mountain spring water from an area surrounded by mountains, where temperature swings are extreme, at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
Summer begins with Japan's rainy season, tsuyu, from late May to mid-July, when humidity rises with the temperature before the real heat begins. The Summer blend has a fragrance of vanilla and a fresh sweetness matched by the richness of the aged barrel, and its green label recalls seasonal flowers and happy birds.
