Sierra Norte Red Corn is a Mexican whiskey from Oaxaca made mainly from native Oaxacan red corn, bottled at 45% ABV.
It is made by Douglas French of Scorpion Mezcal, using about 85% heirloom red corn and 15% malted barley.
The corn comes from small, family-owned farms paid fair prices, helping preserve Mexico's heirloom corn.
It is aged in French oak, bringing a rich, earthy corn sweetness with spice.
Its colourful label makes it a conversation-starting bottle for whiskey explorers. The brand launched in 2016.
