Slow & Low Cherry Old-Fashioned is a ready-to-serve bottled cocktail from Hochstadter's, made with Luxardo in an extra-dry style, blending 100% straight rye whiskey with Luxardo's Sangue Morlacco cherry liqueur at a full 80 proof (40% ABV).
Slow & Low comes from Philadelphia's Cooper Spirits Company, helmed by the creator of St. Germain liqueur, which revived the old American tradition of rock and rye with a bottled whiskey cocktail built on straight rye, raw honey, citrus and bitters. Branded America's original bottled cocktail since 1884, it has grown into a family of ready-to-pour Old Fashioneds. The Cherry Old-Fashioned arrived alongside a Maple Old-Fashioned made with Crown Maple.
For the Cherry Old-Fashioned, Slow & Low collaborated with legendary Italian liqueur maker Luxardo, established in 1821, to fold genuine Luxardo cherry into the classic build. Iconic Sangue Morlacco cherry liqueur meets 100% straight rye whiskey aged over two years in new American oak, with raw honey and aromatic bitters. It is an extra-dry, bar-strength cocktail, not a sweet RTD: no watering down, no shortcuts.
Expect rye spice and raw honey with dark Luxardo cherry and bitters, bold and less sweet, with a bold whiskey backbone and complex fruit depth.
Serve it straight over a big cube: it is a complete, bar-strength Old Fashioned. Garnish with an orange peel or a Luxardo cherry if you like.
