Solento Organic Blanco is a USDA certified organic, additive-free tequila from a single estate in Amatitán, Jalisco, unaged and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), here in a 375ml bottle.
Solento was founded by filmmaker and surf legend Taylor Steele, who has spent nearly three decades making surf films. The name comes from sol lento, slow sun, and Solento is more of a mindset than a drink: carving out time to appreciate the real experiences already here. Steele partnered with the Montes family at NOM 1480, leaders in organic tequila making, along with a roster of investors from the surf world who share a passion for clean, sustainable spirits.
After growing slowly under the Mexican sun for seven years, the certified organic blue agave is harvested in small batches from a single estate. At NOM 1480 it is cooked in stone and brick ovens, extracted with a roller mill, fermented open-air in stainless steel tanks and double distilled in stainless pot stills with copper coils. The meticulous process removes the bitter components of the agave for an exceptionally smooth sip, and the award-winning blanco has earned Double Gold honors.
Vanilla comes first on the nose, followed by warm straw and sweet key lime. The palate is clean and agave-forward, with green agave, sweet citrus blossom, pepper and herbal notes, and the finish is bright and mouth-coating.
