Solento Organic Reposado is a USDA certified organic, additive-free tequila made from 100% organic blue agave and aged nine months in American oak barrels, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Solento was founded by filmmaker Taylor Steele and is centred on a slower, more intentional approach to tequila. It harvests organic blue agave in small batches from a single estate and is produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, at NOM 1480. The reposado takes that clean, agave-forward base and softens it through oak ageing, adding richer barrel notes.
The aroma brings caramel, mandarin and ginger lemon tea. The taste is homemade caramel, brioche and agave, with a bright yet buttery body, and the finish offers honey and pink peppercorn.
Its textured glass bottle makes it a beautiful gift, and the award-winning reposado is best enjoyed simply over ice.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
