Special Operations Salute Army SOF Edition is a 105-proof (52.5% ABV) blend of straight whiskeys from Heritage Distilling, matured six years or more in heavy-charred American oak, created as a tribute to the strength and sacrifice of Army Special Operations Forces.
Heritage Distilling, established in 2011 in the Pacific Northwest, has earned recognition as one of North America's most awarded craft distilleries. The whiskeys in this blend, including straight bourbon, were mashed, fermented, distilled and aged in Washington State.
Six years in heavy-charred American oak gives the blend depth and a bold, full character.
A meaningful gift for veterans, service members and those who honour them.
Sip it neat or over a large ice cube.
A blend of straight whiskeys combines whiskeys that each qualify as straight, aged at least two years in new charred oak, so the blender can balance the sweetness of bourbon with the spice of rye.
At 105 proof, a few drops of water open up the aromas and soften the heat, while a large ice cube makes it an easy, slow sipper.
Washington State has become one of the most exciting craft distilling regions in the United States, with distillers using local grain and the Pacific Northwest climate to give their whiskeys a character of their own. Heritage Distilling, based in Gig Harbor, is among the best known of them.
The Special Operations Salute bottle carries the insignia and spirit of the units it honours, making it a natural centrepiece for a reunion, a promotion or a retirement celebration.
