St. George Absinthe Verte is a fine brandy-based absinthe from St. George Spirits in Alameda, California, bottled at 60% ABV in a 200ml flask.
It was the first legal American absinthe released after the US lifted its 95-year ban in 2007, perfected over 11 years of patient experimentation by distiller Lance Winters.
Its complexity comes from fine brandy and real botanicals: star anise, mint, wormwood, lemon balm, hyssop, meadowsweet, basil, fennel, tarragon and stinging nettles.
It uses no artificial dyes, sugars or shortcuts; its colour comes from the herbs themselves.
The 200ml flask is a handy size for trying absinthe at home or adding a classic rinse to cocktails.

How to Enjoy It
Prepare St. George Absinthe the traditional way: pour an ounce into a glass and slowly drip three to five ounces of ice-cold water over a sugar cube on a slotted spoon, watching it louche into a cloudy, aromatic drink. Use it to rinse the glass for a Sazerac, add a few drops to a Corpse Reviver No. 2, or try a Death in the Afternoon topped with Champagne. Store it upright in a cool, dark place. For a gathering, chill the bottle and set out glasses, ice and garnishes so guests can serve themselves. A bottle also makes a thoughtful host gift for a dinner party or the holidays.
