St. George All Purpose Vodka is a California vodka from St. George Spirits in Alameda, a blend of the distillery's Bartlett pear distillate with a non-GMO grain base, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
St. George Spirits, established in 1982 by eau de vie pioneer Jörg Rupf, works on Alameda Island in San Francisco Bay, off Oakland; its flagship has long been a Pear Brandy distilled from dry-farmed Bartlett pears, and it distills fruit as well as grain. All Purpose Vodka draws on both: made in the Golden State from American grain and fruit.
Bartlett pears are distilled to 95.1% ABV and the pear distillate is blended with a non-GMO grain base spirit, then filtered and brought to bottling strength. The pear does not make it a flavored vodka; instead it lends texture and a soft, round fruitiness to a clean spirit, with no overt pear flavor.
Clean and smooth, with a whisper of orchard fruit and a soft, rounded mouthfeel, it is exactly as its name promises: a vodka for every purpose.
