Stone Imperial Cask Strength Whiskey is a limited collaboration between Stone Brewing and Foundry Distilling Co., distilled from the wort of Stone's Imperial Stout and bottled at cask strength of 127 proof (63.5% ABV).
Foundry Distilling distilled the stout's wort, the first Imperial Stout whiskey from the distillery, and aged it for 30 months in 30-gallon charred oak barrels. The small barrels give plenty of wood contact, deepening the colour and drawing out the roasted character of the stout's dark malts.
It pours a golden amber. A distinctly dark chocolate note punches through, with burnt sugar, coffee and espresso on the nose, and milk chocolate, hazelnut, cream and caramel on the palate.
Brewed, distilled and bottled at full strength, it is a bold gift for craft beer fans and whiskey lovers alike.
