Bon Fire is the distillery's first bourbon, purposely released on July 9, 2016, to commemorate the birthday of Roland Belford "Bon" Scott, perhaps the most iconic and charismatic rock singer. The label carries Bon's distinctive profile and the line "For Those About to Rock." The barrel for this bourbon was carefully chosen by Stonehouse to have the balance of fiery smoothness its friend Bon would have enjoyed. Stonehouse sits at the base of the Elkhorn Mountains overlooking Canyon Ferry Lake; founder John came to Montana from Germany, where his family made traditional grain spirits, and the distillery grinds its own grain, mashes with pure Rocky Mountain water, ferments in single batches and distills in a handmade copper still.
