Suerte Still Strength is tequila in its purest form: a tahona-crushed blanco distilled to 104 proof (52% ABV), with no water added after distillation, for the essence of blue Weber agave.
The 100% blue Weber agave is slow-roasted for 56 hours, crushed by tahona for 24 hours and double distilled in stainless steel and copper. Suerte, Spanish for luck, was founded by two partners from Boulder who teamed up with a small, single-estate family distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, using a meticulous process that takes far longer than the industry standard.
It shows roasted agave, subtle sweetness, ripe cherry and tobacco with an excellent mouthfeel, and aromas of wet grass and the iron-rich soil of the Highlands.
Bold and vibrant, it is a limited release and a fine gift for tequila enthusiasts.
Sip it neat, or use it in a spirit-forward margarita.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
