Superbird Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made from Superbird's tahona-ground blanco, rested six months in ex-bourbon and ex-wine casks and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Superbird starts with an artisanal blanco made from 100% puro agave: tahona-ground, handmade and twice distilled for a smooth taste, and produced using time-honored methods in the heart of Jalisco. The bottle itself is a statement, wrapped in bold skull-and-bird artwork.
For the Reposado, that blanco base rests for up to six months in a blend of ex-bourbon and ex-wine casks for added richness and complexity. The result is deep, rich and earthy: like sitting down at the bar with the devil himself, as the brand puts it.
Golden in the glass, it pairs the bright, fresh agave of the blanco with the warmth of the barrels. Expect notes of almond, vanilla and maraschino cherry, with amber, honey and toasted oak, a smooth, well-rounded palate and an inviting finish.
Great neat or on a rock, it is also a versatile reposado for cocktails: try it in a Margarita, a Paloma or a Tequila Old Fashioned.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
