Telmont Blanc de Blancs Vinothèque 2006 is a late-released vintage Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay by Champagne Telmont of Damery.
Vinothèque wines are held back in the house's cellar library and released only after long ageing; this 2006 spent around 14 years on its lees before disgorgement.
The wine was fermented in oak and lees-stirred, building richness and texture alongside Chardonnay's natural freshness.
It shows fleshy peach with a hint of white tobacco, then pear, lychee, vanilla and toasted toffee.
Founded in 1912, Telmont is a family-rooted house in the Marne Valley that has committed to organic farming and to reducing its environmental footprint, from lighter bottles to the end of gift boxes for its standard range. Released after well over a decade of patient ageing, this 2006 Vinothèque offers the depth and complexity of a mature Champagne that is ready to drink tonight.
Champagne can only come from the Champagne region of north-eastern France, and it gains its bubbles from a second fermentation in the bottle, the traditional method. Non-vintage cuvées are blended from several harvests so that each house can keep its signature style consistent from year to year, and they rest on their lees for at least fifteen months before release.

How to Enjoy It
Serve it chilled but not icy, around 10 to 12°C, in a white-wine glass so the mature aromas can open. It pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, roast chicken with morels, aged Comté and mushroom dishes. Open it for an anniversary or a birthday from the same era. Store the bottle on its side in a cool, dark place, and chill it for a few hours before opening. A bottle of this standing makes a memorable gift for a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a wedding or a promotion.
