Tequila 13 Origen is a 100% blue agave silver tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco (NOM 1455), bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Origen is the original, unflavored expression of Tequila 13, a brand founded more than 20 years ago by people introduced to the industry at one of Mexico's first premium tequila distilleries. With a defined aroma full of character, it still retains a special softness thanks to its crafted process, and its quality and care can be appreciated in every bottle. It comes in the brand's square crystal bottle with a blue 13 and medallion.
Origen emanates an herbal aroma with fresh citrus intertwined with green mint and a hint of caramelized agave sweetness. It leaves a clean, creamy and soft sensation on the palate, which makes way for anise, citron, pineapple and a hint of caramel, with touches of pepper and minerality.
The crystal 13 bottle makes it a sleek gift.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
