Tequila Corralejo Silver is a 100% Blue Weber agave blanco from Hacienda Corralejo in Guanajuato, double distilled in the Charentais method and bottled fresh at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Tequila Corralejo is distilled at Hacienda Corralejo in Pénjamo, Guanajuato, an estate known as the birthplace of Mexican independence leader Miguel Hidalgo and one of Mexico's earliest commercial tequila producers. After production had ceased for decades, Don Leonardo Rodríguez Moreno revived the hacienda in the 1990s and relaunched the Corralejo brand in 1996.
The 100% Blue Weber agave is estate grown and hand-harvested from the hacienda's own fields in Guanajuato. It is double distilled using the Charentais method, perfected by the French for Cognac over some 400 years, which allows exceptional retention of aroma and flavor. The Silver is unaged and bottled fresh in-house at the hacienda.
Pure and clear, it opens with white and pink peppercorns and mint. The palate brings agave and sweet spearmint, and the finish is light and crisp.
Sip it chilled or mix a bright Margarita, a Paloma or a Ranch Water.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
