Tequila Ocho Reposado Barrel Proof La Mesa 2025 is a single-estate reposado made exclusively from blue Weber agave harvested at Rancho La Mesa in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, bottled at barrel proof, 101 proof (50.5% ABV).
Tequila Ocho is known for bottling tequila that highlights where the agave was grown, not just how it was made, with each release a snapshot of one rancho and one year. The agave is slow cooked in brick ovens, fermented with wild yeast and distilled twice, then rested for about four to six months in well-used American whiskey barrels that add polish without burying the estate character. Bottled without dilution, it brings a bigger texture and more concentrated flavour than a standard 80 proof reposado.
It balances cooked agave sweetness with vanilla-oak lift, peppery spice and a long, warming finish, clean and agave-forward.
A limited single-estate release, it makes a fine gift for tequila collectors.
Sip it neat, then add a drop of water.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
