Tromba Añejo is the aged expression of Tequila Tromba, made with master distiller Marco Cedano from 100% blue agave and rested up to 24 months in American white oak barrels. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Marco Cedano brings some 50 years of tequila-making to the brand, and his signature appears on every bottle. Tromba was built around his experience and around a simple idea: honest, additive-free character from fine agave and patient aging. It pays tribute to the culture and traditions of the Jalisco tequila country, and the labels carry an engraving of the agave fields where it all starts.
The añejo begins as the same small-batch tequila as Tromba Blanco. It then spends up to two years in American white oak, where it is tasted along the way and bottled when the blend is right. The long rest in oak gives a deep, rich añejo that keeps the cooked-agave core of the house style beneath its layers of barrel character.
Its tall, square bottle, with the añejo name printed under the Tromba wordmark, makes a handsome gift for any agave fan.
Sip it neat, slowly, to let the oak and agave open in the glass.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
