Teremana Reposado is a small-batch 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Jalisco Highlands, rested in American whiskey barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV), here in a 1-liter bottle.
Teremana was founded by Dwayne Johnson to create a high-quality, responsibly sourced tequila at a price accessible to all. Its name combines tere, from the Latin terra for earth, and mana, the Polynesian word for spirit: spirit of the earth. The hand-harvested piñas are slow roasted in small traditional brick ovens for about three days at a lower temperature than most, then distilled in copper pot stills handmade at the distillery. Teremana was the first tequila to print nutrition information on the bottle, and it was named a Master in The Spirits Business awards in 2022.
Rich warm oak, vanilla and roasted agave lead to a lightly sweet, complex and smooth finish with a gentle peppery bite.
The highland-landscape label makes it an easy crowd-pleasing gift.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
