Tesoro Azteca Blanco is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Jalisco, made at NOM 1079 and presented in a dramatic faceted crystal decanter, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Tesoro Azteca means Aztec treasure, and its neck reads el tesoro de nuestra historia, the treasure of our history. The bottle, cut like a jewel with a faceted stopper and a crown emblem, makes it one of the most striking tequilas on the shelf.
The tequila is made from 100% de agave azul at NOM 1079 in the highlands of Jalisco. The agave is cooked in autoclaves, extracted with a screw mill and fermented in open-air stainless steel tanks with natural spring water, then double distilled and bottled unaged.
Expect cooked agave, citrus and a hint of black pepper on the nose, a smooth, lightly sweet palate of agave and herbs, and a clean, crisp finish.
Tesoro Azteca Blanco is smooth enough to sip chilled or over a single large cube, and bright enough for cocktails. Shake a classic Margarita with fresh lime and agave syrup, build a Paloma with grapefruit soda, or mix a Ranch Water with sparkling water and lime. It also makes a crisp Tequila Tonic with cucumber. Pair it with ceviche, fish tacos, shrimp aguachile or fresh guacamole. The jewel-like decanter makes it an eye-catching gift for birthdays, weddings and celebrations, and a centerpiece on any bar cart long after the last pour.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
