Texano Boot Gold is a 100% blue Weber agave reposado tequila presented in a striking boot-shaped glass bottle and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
It is produced in Jalisco under NOM 1413 by Institucional Tequila. The agave is double distilled for a clean, refined spirit, which then rests for six months in oak barrels. That half-year of maturation earns it the reposado classification and gives the warm gold colour and subtle wood character that set it apart from younger blancos.
Expect honeyed cooked agave with refreshing grapefruit and lime citrus on the nose, followed by vanilla, caramel and warm spice on a smooth, balanced palate, ending in a gently warming finish.
The bottle itself is a conversation piece: a glass cowboy boot complete with stitching detail, which makes Texano a fun gift and a collectible for the bar shelf.
Sip it neat, over ice, or pour it into cocktails.
Reposado, meaning rested, is tequila aged between two months and a year in oak, which gives it a pale gold colour and a gentle touch of wood while keeping the agave bright and lively.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
