The Butterfly Cannon Silver Cristalino is a 100% agave tequila from Destiladora del Valle de Tequila in Jalisco, rested in barrels for up to 30 days and then charcoal filtered to a perfectly clear, crisp tequila, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Agave aged seven to eight years is harvested by hand and baked in traditional steam ovens before being mashed, fermented and distilled. The brand was designed by the Biggar & Leith team and launched in 2021 as a new approach to tequila made with mixology in mind, and the Silver Cristalino is the most traditional of its three expressions. The name nods to the monarch butterflies that migrate from the United States to Mexico.
Fresh and crisp, it shows clean cooked agave with a soft smoothness from its brief barrel rest, and charcoal filtering leaves it bright and clear.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
