The GlenDronach 15 Year Old is a richly sherried Highland single malt Scotch whisky, matured in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía and bottled at 46% ABV.
For fifteen years the whisky quietly grows in stature in the darkness of GlenDronach's dunnage warehouses near Forgue, by Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The distillery's long-established focus on Spanish sherry cask maturation is the heart of its full-bodied, richly sherried house style.
It pours antique copper with a golden hue. The aroma is an intoxicating burst of maraschino cherry, ripe bramble and dark chocolate mint, with hints of orange bitters and walnut liqueur. On the palate, honey-glazed apricot and ripe fig build to a crescendo of black cherry, angelica and muscovado.
Presented in its green gift box, it is a classic gift for lovers of sherried Scotch.

Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso are two very different sherries: Pedro Ximénez is intensely sweet, made from sun-dried grapes, while Oloroso is dry, nutty and rich. Casks that once held them pass on dark fruit, raisin, chocolate and nutty spice, and using both gives a sherried whisky its depth and balance.
