The Illusionist Dry Gin is a 100% organic, color-changing dry gin handcrafted in Munich since 2015, a deep blue gin that turns gentle pink with tonic, bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).
Made in the Glockenbach district of Munich, The Illusionist was one of the original color-changing gins when it emerged in 2015. Each batch is made by hand from premium organic ingredients imported from around the globe, and because the botanicals are sourced regionally in their ideal growing conditions, every batch carries a subtly seasonal, unique character.
The gin is pot-distilled from 16 botanicals and filled into black, art-nouveau-styled bottles. The star is the butterfly pea flower, a natural botanical from the far East that gives the gin its royal blue hue without any artificial ingredients, along with a tender, sweet, nutty and earthy aroma. The Illusionist is pH-sensitive: add tonic water or citrus and the acidity transforms the blue into a gentle pink right before your eyes.
Beyond the show, it is the composition, balance and texture that make The Illusionist compelling. Expect a light breeze of licorice root, earthy-warm mace and fruity citrus peel alongside sweet and savory spices, with a fresh, grassy, gently floral character.
Pour it over ice and top with tonic for the full transformation, or use it in a Martini, a Negroni or a citrus-forward Aviation.
