Muff Irish Vodka is a premium potato vodka from The Muff Liquor Company in the village of Muff, County Donegal, Ireland, distilled six times from the finest Irish potatoes and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). This is the 700ml bottle.
The vodka is inspired by Granda McClenaghan's generational family recipe. In the early part of the 20th century, Philip McClenaghan farmed potatoes in Donegal, and his grandchild's company honors him with spirits built on traditional Irish potato-based recipes and processes. The Muff Liquor Company launched its craft gin in February 2018 and followed with this vodka in November 2018, and its family-crafted spirits have since won many awards.
Handcrafted in Ireland from locally grown potatoes, it is meticulously distilled six times for smoothness, clarity and a clean, refined finish. The potato base gives it real body.
This incredibly smooth vodka has a velvety mouthfeel, a subtle hint of vanilla on the nose and a delicately balanced creamy and earthy taste, crisp to the finish. It is excellent sipped neat and a versatile base for cocktails.
For a crisp, invigorating long drink, mix 35ml of Muff Vodka with 200ml of pink grapefruit soda and garnish with a fresh red grapefruit slice. For something festive, shake 60ml of Muff Vodka with 30ml of pomegranate liqueur and 15ml of triple sec and finish with orange peel: the Pomegranate Mufftini, bright, bold and full of holiday cheer.
