Tierra Noble Blanco is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made by the Herrera family at La Estacada (NOM 1558), one of the highest distilleries in the world at 7,200 feet in Jalisco's Sierra del Tigre, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Tierra Noble is the perfect expression of its 7,200-feet-above-sea-level concept. The Blanco brings together agaves from tequila's two main growing regions, the Tequila Valley for aromatic complexity and Los Altos for sweet, fruity notes, using carefully sourced 8 to 10 year old blue Weber agave. At La Estacada's altitude, among cool forests and pure mountain springs, low temperatures let the cooked agave ferment slowly with Montpellier wine yeast. Completely unusual in tequila, it then undergoes a secondary malolactic fermentation, more common in chardonnay, which brings surprising buttery notes. It won a Silver Medal at the 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Bright and crystalline with silver gleams and a well-developed body, it shows cooked agave, herbal notes, mint and citrus with a slight touch of anise. The palate is smooth and fresh, with rising notes of raw agave and a rich, balanced aftertaste.
