Tres Generaciones Añejo 50th Anniversary Legacy Edition is a limited tequila celebrating 50 years of Tres Generaciones, inspired by Don Francisco Javier Sauza's original 1973 añejo recipe. The third bottle in the Legacy Edition Series, it is bottled at 45% ABV, higher than the usual 40%.
It starts with 100% Blue Weber agave, slow roasted in masonry ovens and crushed with a tahona, then double distilled in copper pot stills. The tequila is aged for fourteen months in seven-year-old American white oak barrels that are specially selected and given an in-house charring, making it a different liquid from the standard Tres Generaciones añejo.
This anniversary bottling recreates the heritage of that 1973 recipe, with the depth of a slow-roasted, tahona-crushed spirit and the extra intensity of its higher bottling strength.
The tequila is presented in a green ceramic vessel, a nod to the original 1973 decanter, displayed in a wooden frame marked 50th Anniversary Edition. It is a collector's piece and a meaningful gift for anyone who appreciates tequila history.
Pour it slowly and enjoy a taste of half a century of tequila making. The higher strength gives it extra intensity, so a few minutes in the glass, or a single drop of water, helps the roasted agave and oak open up. As a numbered chapter in the Legacy Edition Series, it is also a natural centrepiece for collectors following the brand's anniversary releases.
