Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch is a 93-proof (46.5% ABV) Tennessee whiskey distilled, aged and bottled entirely by Uncle Nearest, with each batch curated by Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler.
Uncle Nearest honors Nearest Green, the Godfather of Tennessee Whiskey. Each small batch comes from barrels chosen by the founders and is curated by Victoria Eady Butler, Nearest Green's fifth-generation descendant, who was named Master Blender of the Year by Whisky Magazine in 2021 and 2022 and received the same honor from The Spirits Business and VinePair in 2021.
Honey and warm brown sugar lead the nose with cedar, orange peel and tobacco flower, plus ground ginger and white pepper. The palate balances caramel with spicy wood tannins, baking chocolate, cigar leaf, nougat and cinnamon. The finish is long and smooth, as cinnamon lingers with dark chocolate, oak tannins and maple syrup.
The classic cream label makes it a meaningful gift.
