Villa One Añejo is an ultra-premium, hand-crafted 100% blue agave tequila founded by Nick Jonas and John Varvatos, aged more than twelve months in American oak barrels and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Musician-actor Nick Jonas and fashion designer John Varvatos were inspired during a 2018 trip to Mexico with family and friends to create a tequila celebrating "life as it should be," one glass at a time. Villa One is brought to market by Stoli Group and crafted at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos in Tequila, Jalisco. Extended aging in American oak gives the Añejo its dark amber color and full body.
Rich caramel, wood and vanilla wafer with banana essences fill the nose. The palate is full-bodied with wood notes, finishing rich, long and silky with hints of dark chocolate.
The black fleur-de-lis bottle makes it a sophisticated gift.
Añejo tequila is aged between one and three years in oak barrels of no more than 600 litres, long enough to add colour, sweetness and spice while keeping the character of the agave, which makes it a natural sipping tequila.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
