Virginia Distillery Co. Cabernet Cask Select is an American single malt whisky made from 100% malted barley, aged in first-fill bourbon barrels and finished in Cabernet casks, bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV) in a 700ml bottle.
Made with Blue Ridge Mountain spring water, the malt is double distilled in Scottish-made, hand-hammered copper pot stills with long necks and aged a minimum of five years in first-fill bourbon barrels before finishing in various Cabernet casks, including premium Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from France and California. It is part of the distillery's rebranded VDC series of standard releases, and Virginia Distillery Co. has done much to put Virginia on the map for American single malt.
