Courage & Conviction is the flagship American single malt from Virginia Distillery Co. in Lovingston, Virginia, made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV.
Its late founder, Dr. George G. Moore, would often say, have the courage of your conviction, and his vision to redefine American whisky was carried on by his family. The whisky is distilled in Scottish-made copper pot stills at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and aged over six years in sherry casks, bourbon barrels and European red wine STR cuvée casks. Virginia's hot summers and cool winters let it mature faster than in Scotland.
With notes of caramel and butterscotch, it evolves on the palate with bright red fruit, raspberry, cocoa, barrel spice and vanilla, and the finish is creamy and exceptionally smooth.
Winner of Double Gold at the 2020 SIP Awards and presented in its tube, it makes a fine gift.
