Virginia Distillery Co. sits at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lovingston, Virginia. With each release, it works with a local cidery, such as Potter's Craft Cider and Buskey Cider, finishing the whisky in their casks for an additional 8 to 20 months, a celebration of whisky-making traditions around the world and the influence of its home in the New World. The release was named one of Whisky Advocate's Top 20 Whiskies of 2018.
Vanilla, green apple and pear lead the nose. On the palate, baked apple and cinnamon mingle with caramel and honeycomb, while soft creaminess from the malt meets caramelized wood sugars and a touch of cider-barrel acidity.
