Volteo Blanco is a certified organic, additive-free tequila made from 100% organic Weber Blue Agave in the lowlands of Jalisco, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Volteo means "to turn things around", reflecting the brand's mission to set a new benchmark for clean, sustainable luxury spirits; NFL quarterback Dak Prescott is among its partners. It is produced at Destilería Casa de Piedra under NOM 1586, where the organic agave is slow-cooked in traditional stone brick ovens and then fermented in the open air without fibres, a process famously accompanied by classical music, which the distillery credits with influencing the yeast and the tequila's complexity. It is double distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
The result is a vibrant, expressive, layered and herbaceous blanco that earned a Silver Medal and 90 points from Best Tasting Spirits.
Presented in a tall, elegantly textured designer bottle, it makes a stylish gift.
Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
