Whispering Waters Teaninich 12 Year Old is a single cask, cask-strength Highland single malt bottled by The Whiskey Lab at 56.5% ABV, without chill filtration or added colour. Distilled in February 2012 and bottled in August 2024, it is limited to 300 numbered bottles.
The whisky began life in an ex-bourbon hogshead and was finished in a first-fill Oloroso barrique. This was no ordinary sherry-seasoned cask: it was an ex-bodega barrique that held premium drinking sherry in a Spanish bodega for decades, giving a mature, integrated sherry influence that lets the Teaninich spirit shine through. Whispering Waters is The Whiskey Lab's in-house label, founded by a former submariner and physicist, and pays tribute to the sea lore of the Silent Service.
The nose offers a vibrant burst of fresh fruit with subtle hints of citrus, settling into a fresh and inviting tone. On the palate comes a rich, deep medley of dried fruits, where a slow-building warm spice gradually emerges.
The engraved mermaid label and hand-numbered bottle make it a superb collector's gift.

Scotch whisky must be distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years in oak casks, and any age statement on the label refers to the youngest whisky in the bottle.
