Wild Common Ensamble is a joven mezcal artesanal from San Luis Del Rio, Oaxaca, blended by Maestro Mezcalero Joel Velasco from mature Espadín and Tobalá agave from his community, and bottled here at 46% ABV.

The agave is roasted in an earthen pit, crushed with a traditional stone tahona, fermented naturally in open-air pine vats and distilled twice in small stainless and copper pot stills, an honest expression of terroir that honours artesanal tradition.

The Espadín base brings an initial clean mouthfeel of green citrus, fresh herbs and a hint of coconut. The Tobalá follows with warm butter and floral notes, gentle and sweet on the finish.

Approachable but wonderfully complex, it makes a fine gift for mezcal lovers.

Sip it from a copita or use it in a mezcal cocktail.

Mezcal is made by roasting agave hearts, traditionally in earthen pits, then crushing, fermenting and distilling them, a process that gives the spirit its characteristic smoky depth. Each agave variety and each village brings its own character, which is why enthusiasts love exploring small-batch bottlings.

Mezcal and other agave spirits are traditionally sipped from a copita or a small clay cup, in small sips, often alongside orange slices dusted with sal de gusano. Many are made in tiny batches by individual families, so each bottle is a snapshot of a particular place, agave and season.
