Wolfburn Langskip is a non-chill filtered Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness, matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength, 116 proof (58% ABV).
Wolfburn sits in Thurso on Scotland's far northern coast, a town named by the Vikings in honour of the god Thor, and the whisky is distilled, matured and bottled entirely there. Langskip is named after the Viking longships, sleek, smooth, purposeful and strong, whose legacy surrounds the distillery. It joined the core range in 2018, crafted from unpeated spirit matured for up to seven years in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at an undiminished 58%. Wolfburn bottles it non-chill filtered and uncoloured, so the texture from the first-fill wood stays in the bottle.
Langskip's strength is matched only by its smoothness. It delivers maple syrup, dark chocolate, almonds and dried fruit, with generous vanilla, caramel and rich fruit from the bourbon casks, then toffee, white chocolate and spice. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla fading into caramel, oak and dried fruit.
It has earned Double Gold at FiftyBest in 2018 and at the Singapore World Spirits Competition in 2019, and 94 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2026. Presented in its blue box, it is a bold gift for malt lovers.
