Woodinville Straight Rye Aged 8 Years is a limited-edition, 100% rye whiskey and the oldest rye ever bottled by the Woodinville Whiskey Company. Aged eight years in toasted and charred American oak, it is bottled at 100 proof, non-chill-filtered and free from additives.
Woodinville is a grain-to-glass distillery: the rye is grown on the Omlin family farm in Quincy, Washington, and the whiskey is pot distilled and aged in Washington, where the region's hot summers and cold winters drive the spirit into the wood. A pure rye with no corn or malted barley, it won Double Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Dark molasses, clove and brown sugar lead the nose, followed by cinnamon, vanilla, dark honey and a touch of dried cranberry on the palate, with white pepper, dried fig and bitter chocolate. The finish is long, warm and peppery, with a dry, oaky grip.
The handsome square bottle makes it a fine gift for rye lovers.
Taste it neat, then add a splash of water, or use it in a bold Manhattan.
American rye whiskey is made from a mash of at least 51% rye and aged in new charred oak, giving it a spicier, drier character than bourbon, with notes of pepper, herbs and baking spice.
