Woodson Whiskey White Label is a Kentucky-mashed bourbon finished in French oak Cabernet wine barrels by NFL Hall of Famer Charles Woodson, bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Charles Woodson built his legend on the gridiron and brings his passion for winemaking and sustainability to his craft spirits. The mash was made in Kentucky and accelerated-aged for six months using ultrasonic waves for more bourbon-to-stave contact, then finished at Woodson's San Diego distillery in the French oak Cabernet barrels used to make his Napa Valley wine. The White Label is part of the Woodson Signature Series.
A light front end of Cabernet berries leads to a smooth bourbon middle and a long-lasting caramel finish on the back of the palate.
The white engraved-style label makes it a sharp gift for football fans.
Bourbon must be made in the United States from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak containers, and straight bourbon must be aged at least two years. Those rules give bourbon its characteristic sweetness, with caramel and vanilla drawn from the charred barrels.
Wine-cask finishes add berry fruit and color to bourbon.
A splash of water opens up the fruit notes.
It pairs with grilled steak, barbecue or dark chocolate.
It is a great gift for football fans.
