Zumbador High Proof Blanco is an additive-free, single-estate highland tequila made by fourth-generation master tequilero Roberto López Anaya at El Sabino (NOM 1643), bottled unaged at 108 proof (54% ABV).
Zumbador, Spanish for hummingbird, comes from the López family, who have grown agave in Jalisco for four generations; their El Sabino estate in Jesús María, Los Altos de Jalisco, covers some 1,000 acres with 1.5 million agaves. Fermentation is open-air in wood and stainless-steel tanks, both with and without agave fibers, and the tequila is double distilled in copper and stainless pot stills with deep-well water. The High Proof skips the usual water dilution to showcase the estate agave at full strength. It won Double Gold at the 2026 Agavos Awards.
The elevated proof amplifies cooked-agave sweetness, citrus, minerality, herbs and pepper while keeping a surprisingly rich, creamy texture, and it drinks smoothly for its strength.

Blanco tequila is bottled unaged or rested for less than two months, so it shows the agave at its purest: bright, peppery and fresh. It is the classic choice for margaritas and palomas, and a good blanco is just as rewarding sipped neat.
Tequila can only be made from blue Weber agave in five designated Mexican states, chiefly Jalisco, and the finest bottlings are made from 100% agave. Sipping tequila is best enjoyed from a narrow-rimmed glass that concentrates the aromas, at room temperature and without salt or lime, so the character of the agave and the barrel can come through.
